Sum It Up!
Arithmetic Through the Senses

This group takes a unique approach to conceptual learning designed to eliminate frustration and help children feel successful at math. Children will be engaged in a variety of fun, active, sensory-based activities that will help them grasp and internalize the concepts of math more easily.
The topics covered are aligned with national and state standards for elementary school math like word problems, measurements, telling time, money, estimations, graphs etc. Children will work in small groups, getting hands-on experience to reinforce each concept. Using carefully designed sensory stimulus to deepen understanding, this camp will go beyond memorization and help kids see how math applies to the real world.

Ready to Read!
Phonological Awareness & Early Reading

Using a multi-sensory approach that includes music, song and movement, children will develop key building blocks for early reading success. Emphasising phonological skills like rhyming, segmenting words, adding & deleting sounds to change words and promoting general “word play,” participants will acquire the skills, comfort level and familiarity needed to take the frustration and anxiety out of learning to read.

Designed for children in Kindergarten-1st grade, but also appropriate for older children still acquiring reading skills.
